Cressey's Surf Academy offers personal coaching if you are interested in further developing your skills to enhance your surfing ability and enjoyment in the water. If you want to be able to surf harder and longer, pull off bigger and better moves more frequently and with more style, Advanced Coaching sessions can help you. Coaching of this nature is preferably on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis or a small group, and tailored to individual needs and aims.
Formerly sponsored by Billabong and South African Surf Champion for Under 12's, Ingemar Cressey has competed across the world since the age of 10 years old, including competing as part of the UK Pro Surf Tour. As a qualified Fitness Instructor, as well as Surf Coach Ingemar is also able to develop a bespoke programme of diet, exercise and surf instruction to help you achieve your goals.
Exactly what we teach you will depend on what you hope to get out of the lesson and whether or not you want to work on specific manoeuvres. On some sessions we may get you in the water first to get an exact idea of your ability. Wetsuits are available for use if required, but you should already have your own surfboard.
Advanced sessions also include video analysis with your Instructor. As part of this package you will recieve an edited DVD of your surfing session completely free to take away with you. An additional meeting will be set up between yourself and your Instructor, after your surfing lesson to allow you to view your DVD and talk through techniques and areas for improvement, which can be invaluable in helping you improve your skills.
If you wish to start competiting in Surf Competitions on a local or national level, we will also be able to train and guide both Junior and Adultsurfers.
